You may have seen recent news coverage about a rise in cyclosporiasis cases across the United States this summer. First and most importantly: there is no recall affecting any of our products. No specific grower, supplier, or product has been linked to the current
cyclosporiasis outbreak, and based on information currently available from the FDA and CDC, none of our suppliers have been identified as being associated with the ongoinginvestigation. We follow all FDA food safety guidelines across our operations and are
continuing to monitor updates closely.
What we recommend
In line with CDC guidance, we encourage everyone to:
- Wash all fresh produce thoroughly under running water before eating, cutting, or
cooking it. - Scrub firm produce, like melons and cucumbers, with a clean produce brush.
- Cut away any bruised or damaged areas before preparing produce.
- Cook produce when possible, since thorough cooking can help reduce risk.
Washing reduces risk but isn’t a guarantee against this particular parasite, so these steps are best used alongside general food safety practices, not as a substitute for them.
