Job Summary

Midwest Foods is a wholesale produce distributor located in Chicago. We are looking for a full time Order Entry/Customer Service Representative. This position answers phones and receives orders from our customers, as well as handles any additional customer service support they may require.


  • Sunday to Friday (Saturdays off plus a flexed week day off)
  • 9PM – 5AM Shift or 11AM – 7PM

Job Description:

• Manage high volume of phone calls

• Receive and process orders

• Accurately enter data within various software programs

• Identify, assess and handle customers’ request

• Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential customers

• Handle complaints, provide appropriate solutions and ensure resolution

• Prepare relevant reports daily

• Collaborate and support across many departments

• Provide administrative support

• Remain current in product knowledge in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues

• Communicate important feedback externally and internally

• Work directly with shipping to provide customers estimated time of delivery

  • Assist Dispatch/Warehouse Manager with logistics issues, delays, ETA’s, checking out drivers, and reviewing all invoices
  • Assist with scanning and correctly filing invoices


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Computer savvy

• Customer Service Experience

• Attention to detail

• Ability to enter data quickly and accurately (60 wpm)

• Effectively multi-task and prioritize time

• Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues and customers

• Critical thinking skills

• Flexible to work schedule

• High School Degree
