In House Sales Assistant

Midwest Foods is a wholesale food distributor providing top quality food products to numerous food establishments in Chicago, surrounding suburbs, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. We import fruits & vegetables from all over the world and distribute these products to local markets.

Job Description:

• Support and assist sales team and other departments, as needed

• Resolve all customer inquiries/complaints on a daily basis through consistent phone and email communication

• Serve as point of contact for our sales team and house accounts

• Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential customers

• Process orders via email, online and phone, ensuring they are accurately entered into the system

• Maintain database by entering new and updated customer account information in multiple software programs

• Welcome and orientate new customers to Midwest Foods

• Welcome and support the training process for BDA

• Complete individual projects as assigned by manager (see list of examples below, this list is not all inclusive)

Order guide maintenance:

  • Pricing quotes
  • Basic usage reports
  • Product information
  • Samples/Donations
  • Delivery times

• Provide administrative support

• Update and follow up on cases in a timely manner

• Remain current in product knowledge in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues

• Communicate important feedback externally and internally

• Weekly sample boxes for BDA Team

• Work directly with shipping to coordinate delivery windows, and special delivery instructions

• Create and Maintain Spec Sheets for accounts

• Maintain CRM (Zoho)

• Review BDA calendars compared to weekly plan follow-up as needed

• Prepare relevant reports as needed


• Excellent Organizational skills

• Experience with NetSuite

• Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues and customers
